My paintings have evolved through the interaction of contemplation and studio process. My art practice is an integrating force in my life as I move toward greater wholeness and spiritual connection.

The paintings in the Inner Landscapes and Planets Rising series offer visualizations of healing in an increasingly fragmented world. For me, the circle forms in the Planets Rising paintings symbolize the inner space where we grow and transform. In both series, the oil and water mediums resist and repel each other, suggesting the material resistances of life itself, and are transformed in the paintings into a rich and unified whole.

The Water Planets are collages of giclée prints and gold prayer paper. Informed by ecology and the alchemical tradition, they celebrate water, the source of all life on this planet, and its dual essence as finite and deeply mysterious.
